KATEŘINA JEŽKOVÁ
Born: 17.6.1950 in Prague
Studied:
- 1969 - 1973 Faculty of Education, Charles University, Prague, diploma dissertation supervised by Cyril Bouda
- 1993 - 1994 Postgraduate studies of art-therapy
- 1994 - 1996 Studies of Waldorfian Education
Since 1993 member of INSEA,
Since 1997 partcipates in Femina art group
Since 1981 she works as an art teacher at the art school in Šárecké údolí, Prague. She also co-operates with Faculty of Education as an external teacher and prepares students for entrance examinations for all kinds of fine art schools and universities. Over the years her public art-therapeutic workshops in Bohnice sanatorium during festivals organized by Unijazz and Mezi ploty association became well known as same as the projects „New discoveries of Únětice civilization“ and „ Iron Age“ created with help of mayor of Únětice (the part of Prague, famous with the archaeological findings).
„The art work of Kateřina Ježková consists of oilpainting and pastel painting first, but she is interested in photography and graphic prints, too. The images shown in her paintings come from a wide range of different themes. A theme of landscape, both existing, real, and a dreamy, is the one she treats repeatedly in her work. Silent friends from the animal realm and fabulous lands you can find at a serie of paintings for children, also very succesfull among grown-ups. The author shares her deepest inner feelings and moods with us finding them generally true and understandable to the others although they are most intimate. Last but not least, there are abstract paintings of dynamic colour lines in the art work of Kateřina Ježková. In the midst of colourful stream she tries to draw near to the most gentle dynamic of matter, to the relativity both of the whole and particular.“
